In 2012 the Camerata Europaea (CE), in cooperation with the "Initiative für Neue Musik (INM)", offers young music students the opportunity to take part in an international concert project for orchestra. The aim of the master class is to help the young musicians develop an individual repertoire and improve their technical and musical proficiencies. The closing concert provides participants with the chance to perform the works they have developed in the rehearsals. The course will take place from April 13 to 15, 2012 in Berlin-Germany.

Master Class for Conducting

The Camerata Europaea (CE) with its artistic director Maria Makraki has announced its intention of hosting an international masterclass on orchestral conducting in cooperation with the "Initiative für Neue Musik (INM)", in Berlin. The aim of the course is to give young music students a basic knowledge of conducting techniques and develop the stylistic, interpretive and practical aspects of performing music. Under the guidance of a young distinguished conductor and experienced teacher, participants will have the opportunity to improve their conducting skills in practice and to conduct the Camerata Europaea-Youth orchestra. In addition, the course will also tackle problems associated with the interpretation of classical and contemporary music, for which participants will develop suitable contemporary solutions. The workshop is hosted by the "Initiative für Neue Musik (INM)" and will be held in Berlin on April 13–15, 2012. Workshop languages are English, German and Greek.

Master Class for Composition
Lecturer: Minas Borboudakis
Course period: September 10 – 14, 2012
The Camerata Europaea (CE) has announced its intention of hosting an international master class on composition in cooperation with the "ABOUT: Cultural Venue" in Athens. The master class, which will be led by the Greek composer Minas Borboudakis who lives and works in Munich, is open to young composers before, during or after their studies in composition. The participants are requested to provide their own works for solo, chamber, orchestral or electronic combination. The scores and the sound files (if available) will have to be sent electronically as PDF and mp3 files to the following email address (meisterkurse@camerata.eu) not later than the 1st of September 2012. In the master class the works will be individually discussed, analyzed and improved in technical, musical as well as in aesthetic terms. The Camerata Europaea-Youth symphony orchestra offers the option to perform selected compositions of the participants in an upcoming concert of the season 2012/2013 which will take place in one of the famous concert halls in Europe. The maximal instrumentation may not exceed: 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 2 horns, 2 trumpets, 1 trombone, 1 timpani, 1 percussion, strings. The workshop is hosted by the "ABOUT: Cultural Venue" and will be held in Athens on September 10–14, 2012. Course languages are English, German, and Greek.

Course for Flute

Course period: September 14 – 21, 2012
In 2012 the Camerata Europaea (CE), in cooperation with the "ABOUT: Cultural Venue", Athens, offers music students, young flute players and scholars, as well as music teachers, the opportunity to take part in a course for flute. The participants will intensively work individually and in group on technical and musical issues, on the realization of one's own targets, the preparation of concerts, competitions and auditions. The final concert provides participants with the chance to perform in public the works they have developed during the course. Apart from the ordinary flute repertory, the participants will also work on compositions by Claude Debussy, on the occasion of his 150th birthday, as well as compositions for flute by Minas Borboudakis. The course for flute will begin on Friday, 14th of September at 6:00 p.m. with an opening concert under the title "Syrinx & Aeolus", with the lecturers Natalia Gerakis and Minas Borboudakis performing works by C.Debussy and M.Borboudakis. In addition, after the opening concert, participating flutists will work together with Minas Borboudakis on his compositions. Furthermore the students will have the opportunity on September 14, from 10.00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to attend the master class for composition with Minas Borboudakis (9-14.09.12).
