Hoops sees Basketball Ireland set up a pop-up basketball court in Eyre Square.
Using the 3×3 basketball format which continues to grow in popularity around the world, Hoops presents a jam-packed weekend of sport and culture. In addition to the 3×3 competition, there will also be wheelchair basketball games, slam dunk competitions and other activities. The Hoops project also showcases those elements of urban culture that go hand-in-hand with street basketball and so, each day when the games finish, the court and Eyre Square gets taken over by skateboarding, break-dancers, parkour, DJs and musicians, bringing a colourful mix of sights, sounds and movements.
